Thank you for the kind words about our panel on the collaborative community work Code for America did in Shelby County. I agree that we didn't get as far into the nuts and bolts of the work as we had hoped to.

I just started my sabbatical and plan to be writing a few practitioner reflections in the coming weeks. I also would love to connect you with my coworkers for a virtual coffee so you can hear some of their thoughts.

Also if you have specific questions, please let us know. Our hope is to eventually create a playbook to help governments connect and partner with their communities.

That would be great, Matt! I know Sarah, leader of our (nascent) unified website team would love to learn more, as would I. We both attended the session. But others on our team could learn from your work, too, so maybe we could bring together a broader group on our side and you or your team could do a mini version of your talk before we jump into more detailed questions.

In any case, we'd love to learn more. Our user research abilities are virtually zero right now, but we plan to hire for that soon and we need inspirational examples like yours to teach us what's possible.

I can reach out via private email to follow-up. And thank you again for the work in Shelby County and beyond!

Please reach out John. I also connected with you on linked in. Both my emails begin with "mbernius" then there's a "gmail" for personal use (while I'm on sabbatical) and a "CfA" one. BTW, the question of why/how/when to apply this type of approach (and what are other variations to try) is EXACTLY what I plan to be writing about over the next 7 weeks.

So those are such great questions.
